How many times have you heard people say about you are what you eat. There is actually truth to that saying especially when it comes to treating sciatica. In act, eating the right kind of food will lead to an effective sciatica treatment.
First and foremost, eating foods that are anti-inflammatory does the trick. Sciatica can be very painful especially if you have been suffering from a nagging pain at the back. As such, you need to eat foods that are organic, fresh and do not contain preservatives. For example, you can have a daily serving of atlantic salmon, colourful fruits and vegetables, nuts and legumes. Use olive oil and drink plenty of fluids such as water and green tea. Most of these foods are believed to be anti-inflammatory. These will help ease the pain that you are feeling.
On the other hand, you have to also avoid eating foods that can trigger more inflammation such as processed foods. Even organic vegetables that are pre-packaged are not advisable. Those that have too much sugar content such as ice cream, chocolates and ckes must be avoided as well. Even red meat is definitely a no-no.
